Cadfil has been developed by Crescent Consultants Ltd. since 1983 as the first independent filament winding software not tied to machine manufacturers. Andrew Priestly and his co-partner founded the company while being professors at the University of Nottingham in the UK. Cadfil is a complete software and is still actively developed, but has an outdated GUI/Workflow. Cafdil is known for its low-price options making it the go-to software for low-cost applications.

Cadfil is solely run by Andrew Priestly.
