CADWIND, developed by Belgium company MATERIAL S.A., was founded in 1990 by former engineers of the Institute for Plastic Processing at the Technical University Aachen, Germany.

The company was founded by Christian Laval and Axel Seifert (who later developed Composicad with his business partner Michael Skinner). Today the company is managed by Christian Laval.
